FAQ

Buying a mini campervan is a big decision, and we would expect you to have some questions. The most frequently asked ones are answered below but don't hesitate to get in touch if you have something else on your mind.

  • Why buy a campervan?
    Campervans are the ultimate versatile vehicle. Here at Mini Campers North East we offer you compact, easy to drive vehicles with all the necessary equipment for trips away and all the manoeuvrability and functionality of a car. With a campervan you’re in control and you don’t have to book ahead. There are plenty of places you can simply park for free for the night and enjoy yourself without the hustle and bustle of hopping on a plane or going on a cruise.
  • How much are your campervans?
    Our campervans range in price from £10,000 to £39,995. Our usual range of vehicles we can offer will have a brand new conversion in this price, unless otherwise stated in the advert.
  • Are pop top roofs included in the price?
    In some cases it will say in the advert ‘pop top roof included in price’, others may specify they do not have a roof included. This depends on if we have pre booked it to be fitted or not.
  • How can I pay?
    We can take deposits from bank transfer, Credit or Debit Card. For large transfers we require they be done via bank transfer. Please contact us for these details and to discuss all payment options.
  • Do you have converted vans on site?
    Usually we do have some vehicles for sale that have already been converted on site, although these often sell very quickly. The majority of our vans are sold with a choice of interiors and styles – built to order for the price advertised. The description on the advert should explain if the van is completed yet or not.
  • Where are you located?
    We are based in Brunswick Industrial Estate just 10 minutes from Newcastle-upon-Tyne and 5 minutes from the Newcastle Airport. Our address is MCNE, Unit 1 & 2, Brunswick Industrial Estate, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE137BA.
  • Do I need a Habitation check?
    With the majority of our vehicles being ‘campervans’ with unaltered bodies there is no requirement for an official habitation check unless otherwise stated by one of our representatives.
  • Can I design the interior of my van?
    You do get a choice of materials and colours to suit yours and the van’s style in all our bespoke conversions. The overall layout of the units and bed will be configured to the classic ‘side conversion’ design. This is the most popular conversion that allows for 4 or 5 travelling passengers and plenty of floor and storage space. We will allow customers to, within reason, change the size of cupboards or layout within the unit frames to suit their needs
  • Is road tax included?
    Road tax is not included in any sale price and will have to be organised either in house at pick up, or with previously disabled registered vehicles, will have to be applied for in the post office by one of our salesman. Please enquire if you are unsure what needs to be done with your vehicle’s tax.
  • Is campervan insurance really expensive?
    Not necessarily! You may assume camper insurance will be more expensive due to the kit that is included and the price of the vehicles. Quite often insurance quotations will be similar to what you pay on your car insurance. We can make the process of finding insurance easier if you use one of the insurers who have us logged as a registered dealer. Speak to us to find out more.
  • Can I use a finance plan to pay for my vehicle?
    Yes! We work alongside a company called Pegasus who will help you by providing a personal loan-type finance on our vehicles. They are quick, trustworthy and have very competitive rates.
